Your Chance to Change (Justice Services, Midlothian Council)

Who is this for?

  • Adult heterosexual men who are over 16 years old

This service is available to men who either live or work in the Midlothian Council area. This service is also available where a man lives out with Midlothian but his (ex)partner and children live within Midlothian.

Who provides this?

  • Justice Services, Midlothian Council

Description

Your Chance to Change supports heterosexual men who are behaving abusively towards their (ex)partners and want to change. The service supports men to undertake the Caledonian Men’s Programme, which is a holistic programme supporting men, through a combination of one-to-one and group work, to make positive and sustained lasting changes in how they behave within an intimate relationship.

Support can last up to two years during which additional, voluntary support will be offered to (ex)partners and children for the duration of the man’s engagement with the service. As the programme adopts a gendered lens to domestic abuse, it can only support those identifying as heterosexual men.
