Description

Chapter Scotland is a lived-experience-led charity supporting people affected by the justice system across Scotland.

Our work focuses on helping people navigate the stigma and discrimination that can follow justice system involvement. We provide information, advocacy, peer support, wellbeing activities, outreach support, training and opportunities for people to use their lived experience to influence positive change.

Our services include:

  • A national helpline providing information, support and signposting
  • Individual and collective advocacy
  • Peer support groups and wellbeing activities
  • Support for family members
  • Community outreach and engagement
  • Opportunities to influence policy and practice through our Collective Advocacy Network (CAN)
  • Training and awareness-raising to reduce stigma and improve understanding
  • NC: Collective, our lived-experience-led social enterprise focused on creating pathways to employment and meaningful participation

At the heart of everything we do is a simple belief, people are more than the worst thing that has happened to them and everyone deserves the opportunity to move forward with hope, dignity and support.
