Description

VOCAL supports unpaid carers in Midlothian. It offers tailored support for all caring situations and relationships, including caring for a family member, partner, relative or friend, of any age, who may need help to manage a long term condition, a disability, a physical or mental health difficulty or an addiction.


A Carer Support Practitioner will discuss your unique situation and needs with you. This will help develop an Adult Carer Support Plan for yourself. This person-centred, solution-focused approach can support you to manage your caring responsibilities while taking your own physical and mental health and financial wellbeing into account.

VOCAL Midlothian provides much of this support directly and can also offer access to expert advice covering topics such as:

  • Adult Carer Support Plans
  • carers rights
  • benefits, entitlements and applications
  • power of attorney
  • wills and trusts
  • long term care
