Description

Our free, confidential Outdoor Therapy Service is growing and is available to young people across Midlothian.
Our therapy team is experienced in working with young people facing many different issues. We have experience of working with people facing poor mental and emotional wellbeing, depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use, stress and relationship and family difficulties.
What to expect:
12 weekly Outdoor Therapy sessions
These sessions take place in a green space chosen by the young person
Clients are supported by a professional counsellor or therapist to explore their thoughts, feelings and behaviours so that they can better understand themselves
What are the benefits?
Outdoor Therapy combines the benefits of time spent outdoors with professional therapy, making use of the physical health benefits of time spent in nature
Working outdoors allows clients to benefit from working therapeutically in nature, letting them make the most of opportunities to access embodied experiences, metaphors and the bodily regulating effects which occur
Outdoor Therapy may benefit people who have previously sought support through traditional therapeutic services or were not able to access services
