The service is based on the principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and provides one-to-one support to access self-help materials. A guided self-help worker provides one-to-one support to enable people to make positive changes in their life now and going forward.
You’ll receive one to one support from a guided self-help practitioner who will help you to make positive changes in your life which will allow you to better manage your issues now and in the future.
You will receive self-help materials and will be supported to work through these in between sessions. You will receive four sessions and these are usually about two to three weeks apart.
The initial assessment can take up to fifty minutes with your follow-up sessions sometimes being shorter and between thirty to fifty minutes.
Health in Mind practitioners will work with you on an individual basis. They will listen and talk to you about your concerns, identifying your priorities and supporting you to understand your issues and how they impact your life.
Understanding what can trigger anxiety, depression and stress is important when being introduced to a range of self-help materials. Health in Mind will provide guidance to ensure you use them effectively.
