Description
Health in Mind offers a range of drop-in peer support services for people living in Edinburgh. These services are open to people who want to have a space to be listened to, and to connect with others who understand you.
The Listening Space
The Listening Space is a drop-in service that usually takes place in the main hall of Gilmerton Community Centre. For now, the service has moved online, using the platform Zoom.
Health in Mind is here to give you a space to be listened to, and to connect with others who will do their best to understand you.
Date: Wednesdays
Time: 1.00 – 3.00 pm
1.00 – 1.30 pm – This time is reserved for you to speak to Health in Mind peer listening volunteers one-to-one. Volunteers will listen with a compassionate and non-judgemental ear to whatever you want to speak about. Health in Mind volunteers are impartial and respect your confidentiality. They will not provide advice or counselling.
At present, because this is happening online, please get in touch in advance if you’d like a one-to-one listening session.
1.30 – 3.00 pm – an online peer support group to share, listen, and support each other. There will be discussions and activities exploring how we look after our mental health and wellbeing.
Wellbeing Space
The Wellbeing Space is a weekly drop-in group for people living in South Queensferry, where Health in Mind staff and volunteers talk about wellbeing and do some activities that promote good mental health. There is no pressure to speak, you can just come along and listen if you like.
