Description

Alzheimer Scotland’s Midlothian Dementia Advisor is a point of contact for people living with dementia and their families and carers, as well as statutory and third sector professionals and communities working with and supporting the same groups of people.

The role of a Dementia Advisor is to offer information and advice on all aspects of living and caring for a person with dementia at any stage of the illness. From worries about memory loss, or other signs and symptoms, through to the end of life. A Dementia Advisor can support you to understand more about dementia and live well despite the challenges associated with the condition.

A Dementia Advisor can also help promote your rights, signpost you to and liaise with other services and opportunities on your behalf. They can deliver various dementia information and awareness training based on the needs of different groups of people, including to businesses and community organisations.

Alzheimer Scotland also facilitate groups and activities for people living with dementia and carers, including two, twice monthly Dementia Cafés (Dalkeith and Penicuik). Please get in touch for more information.
