Description

Alzheimer Scotland’s Dementia Advisor is a point of contact for people living with dementia and their families and carers, as well as statutory and third sector professionals and communities working with and supporting the same groups of people.

The role of our Dementia Advisor is to offer information and advice on all aspects of living and caring for a person with dementia at any stage of the illness. From worries about memory loss, or other signs and symptoms, through to the end of life. Alzheimer Scotland’s Dementia Advisor can support you to understand more about dementia and live well despite the challenges associated with the condition.

An Advisor can help promote your rights, signpost you to and liaise with other services and opportunities. They can deliver various dementia information and awareness training based on the needs of different groups of people, including businesses and community organisations.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, support is primarily offered by phone or video calls. However, where this is not practicable, home visits can be considered on a case-by-case basis. As restrictions ease and it is safe to do so, the team aim to resume more in-person support and community opportunities.
