Description

Cancer Card connects cancer patients and their carers, family and friends with essential non-medical support services throughout Scotland.

Cancer Card provides:

Comprehensive Cancer Support Directory: An online resource featuring over 400 national and local support services, attracting 4000+unique monthly visitors. Our website also includes stories, testimonials and podcasts designed to extend awareness of support available, share experiences, give a message of hope and you are not alone.

Digital exclusion is a significant barrier for many people affected by cancer. We provide dedicated telephone and email support which is available five days per week. Our trained staff listen to fears, answer non medical questions and help navigate the complex landscape of cancer support. We also offer a drop-in service. If patients are having difficulty in managing appointments, paying bills or other online services and want a little help with the digital basics we can assist and offer support through an exclusive arrangement with partners including Lloyds Bank.

To offer an equal footing for everyone with cancer we have developed our Comfort Box, which offers a carefully curated selection of practical items. Our comfort boxes play a vital role in supporting patient prehabilitation by addressing all aspects of well-being. They also are an important vehicle enabling us to contact and promote appropriate support services. 78% of recipients contact us about other support that is available.

Our services are NHS Inform approved and widely used by healthcare professionals.
