Description

Braw Blether: Reading and Writing for Wellbeing Groups spark connection through reading, writing and guided discussion. Groups are led by our Healthy Reading Bibliotherapist, a unique role within Scotland. The service is underpinned by professional experience in mental health nursing and supported by regular supervision from a senior social worker, ensuring safe, reflective and high-standard practice.

Sessions are free and you don’t need writing experience.

Midlothian Libraries offer two types of group sessions:

  1. Reading Aloud Group
Uses literature – short stories, poems and other materials – which is read aloud and discussed.
  2. Writing for Wellbeing
    Guided writing sessions.

The groups are open to all adults.
