Venture Scotland
Venture Scotland offers an outdoor, activity based personal development programme for young people aged 16-30 years who want to make significant, lasting changes in their lives and develop life skills, resilience and positive coping strategies.
Service Development
Together with our strong network of Outdoor Youth Workers and skilled volunteers, Venture Scotland help young people who are likely not to be in full time employment and may have issues around poor mental health or learning difficulties, substance misuse, homelessness, criminal justice or isolation from their communities.
Through a structured programme of weekly activity days including hill walking, rock climbing, gorge walking, canoeing, coasteering, and lots more, as well as monthly residential trips to remote bothies and wild camps, we aim to support young people to gain confidence, skills and qualifications needed to make those lasting positive changes with an aim to:
- get a job or a place in further education / training
- build a happier, healthier and more fulfilled life, or
- give something back to help others and improve the community.
Venture Scotland is based in both Edinburgh and Glasgow and make use of the hills and waterways across Scotland, and our Highland bothy in Glen Etive.
