Sports Shed

The Sports Shed provides an environment to get active, to learn new sports and develop friendships through sport and physical activity.

Service Description

The Sports Shed provides a space for you to –

  • Get more active in a friendly, learning environment
  • Meet people through social, non-competitive activity
  • Have a good chat to other people, who might be in a similar situation

Dates: Every Thursday (Starting on 31 January 2019)
Time: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Location: Gorebridge Leisure Centre, Hunterfield Road, Gorebridge EH23 4TX

Weeks 1 – 6
Judo

Facilitated by a professional coach alongside a project worker from Health in Mind who can offer support as required. This will be non-contact and will concentrate on movement and balance. Participants should wear loose fitting clothing such as jogging bottoms, and you do not require footwear as this is done barefoot.

Weeks 7 – 10
Basketball

Facilitated by a professional coach alongside a project worker from Health in Mind who can offer support. Participants should wear suitable sportswear and footwear for this sport.
