MELD (Mid and East Lothian Drugs)

MELD provides locally accessible, confidential and non-judgemental services to promote recovery and reduce substance misuse related harm to individuals, families and the wider community.

Service Description

MELD provides confidential advice, information and a counselling skills approach for substance users, their families and friends; a comprehensive assessment in order to determine peoples’ needs; Strong partnerships with other agencies in order to deliver holistic, person-centred support to help people achieve their goals.

In addition to these core services, MELD provides:

  • a Peer Support service offering motivational interventions and supports
  • a needle exchange service
  • SMART meetings
  • Auricular Acupuncture
