IMPACT project – ASH Scotland (Action on Smoking and Health)

The IMPACT project provides free training and resources to third sector workers and volunteers who provide support to any individual experiencing mental health problems with smoking and mental health.

The IMPACT project is delivered by two ASH Scotland staff. The purpose is to provide workers and volunteers with the information and resources they need in order to offer very brief advice about the adverse effect of smoking on mental health. The training is free and short (in total 3 hours) and is generally delivered on the premises of an organisation.

The ultimate aim of the IMPACT project is to encourage people with mental health problems who smoke tobacco to access the support to quit smoking and reduce the high smoking prevalence rate.
