Enable Scotland – Local Area Co-ordination
The aim of LAC is to enable capacity building, to develop peer support and increase community inclusion. LAC provides the light touch of minimal input but remains in the background until people are confident, at their own pace.
Midlothian LAC works with individuals, families and communities to identify and achieve their good life. Where existing opportunities are available, the team will introduce people to these; where none exist and will work with individuals, communities, agencies or services to facilitate these opportunities.
Intended Client Groups:
- Disabled people in Midlothian, from birth to 65 years, and their families or carers
Applicants for this service should also meet this condition:
The age range is birth to 65 years
This service accepts direct self referrals.
Third parties can refer on behalf of an individual, with their permission.
-Midlothian LAC is flexible around times that suit individuals due to work, childcare. The team recognise that people participate in activities throughout the day, and in the evenings.-
