Edinburgh and Lothian Council on Alcohol (ELCA)
Edinburgh and Lothian Council on Alcohol (ELCA) offers help to anyone worried about their own or someone else’s drinking.
Service Description
ELCA offers free advice, information and support focussing around alcohol.
Counselling sessions offer a supportive and confidential space where you can talk things over in confidence and where you will be heard and accepted in a non-judgemental way. Sessions can help you to explore your drinking and the problems it may be causing in your life.
Telephone counselling offers focused support to individuals who are concerned about their own alcohol use. If you feel it would help to talk through your concerns using this service, ELCA can offer you alcohol focused telephone call lasting up to 30 minutes, 1 session a week for up to 4 weeks.
During the session you can get information and advice, consider your options and receive some support in making changes to your drinking. All you need is to have access to a phone at an arranged time and a place where you will have privacy and no distractions.
ELCA is a Recognised Organisational Member of COSCA.
