Bright Start – Midlothian Sure Start
Bright Start is one of six centres run by Midlothian Sure Start, which aims to support families across Midlothian and to give very young children (from pre-birth to 11 years) the best possible start.
Bright Start aims to create a warm, secure environment from which your child can explore the world around them in a fun & safe manner. Allocated sessions give parents / carers the opportunity to meet new people and take short courses to learn new skills.
Baby Massage
At Baby Massage sessions you will learn massage techniques that have been reported to have a range of benefits which include promoting sleep, improving colic and constipation to name but a few.
After attending Baby Massage, parents / carers are offered a follow on group which covers a range of topics including Baby & Toddler First Aid, Weaning, Heuristic Play and an introduction to your’ Baby’s brain development.
Bright Start Counselling Group
A group for pregnant mums, or those who have recently had a baby and would like to explore their feelings around becoming a parent. The group is facilitated through counsellors from the Bright Start counselling team. This group runs on Wednesday afternoons.
