The Purple Phone launches across Scotland
22 May 2026
Financially Included has announced the national rollout of The Purple Phone, Scotland’s Economic Abuse Helpline, expanding support to women across the country.
The Purple Phone first launched as a pilot service in Glasgow in September 2025. Just two months later, Financially Included worked in partnership with, and to extend the pilot into East Renfrewshire.
Now, in May 2026, the service is being opened up nationally, helping more women access confidential advice and support around economic abuse.
The Purple Phone provides a friendly and confidential first step for women who want to talk about their experiences and receive practical guidance. Supportive advice workers offer information on issues including safe bank accounts, coerced debt, access to benefits, child maintenance, grants and recognising the signs of economic abuse.
The service aims to help women better understand their options and access support in a safe and informed way.
The Purple Phone can be reached on 0343 841 0132 during the following opening hours:
• Monday: 4.30pm to 7.30pm
• Wednesday: 10am to 1pm
• Thursday: 1.30pm to 4.30pm
Financially Included is inviting local and national organisations to learn more about what the national launch means for women in their area, how services can work together, and how organisations can become involved in supporting the helpline.
